As most people know Agates are literally found in almost all Countries, but somewhat surprisingly there aren't that many types, but of those types there are hundreds and likely thousands of variations leading to the point that there are no two Agates alike. They share that distinction with the snow flake, and this is one of the major reasons that Agate Collecting is so exciting. If you have an Agate in your possession there isn't another one on the planet that is identical to it. That is pretty amazing. If in additon you are lucky enough to own a high quality Agate then you really have something of both personal and monetary value, because the more beautiful the Agate in terms of size, color, banding, and lack of chips and cracks then you really have something special, which brings us to a basic question. What is the best Agate in the world? That of course is debatable, but lets say that somehow a person owned the most beautiful Agate on the planet. Well guess what? They don't, and the reason is simple. There is always an undiscovered Agate that is out there that will edge it out. It maybe hasn't been discovered yet, but it's almost for certain just waiting to be discovered, and that really makes Agate hunting and collecting intriguing. We have very nice Agates on this Website, and beauty is generally in the eyes of the beholder.
